A ouija board is a flat surface printed with some symbols on it including letters and figures. A subject places her/his fingers on the planchette, which moves anywhere on the board to spell out messages from the dead souls, though the subject never 'makes' it move on her/his own. In popular culture these boards have come to be considered the highway to contact the dead; however, it does not carry any scientific support with it.
